Okay, I know I’m the last remaining person in the whole wide world to see this film, or at least it seems that way judging by the number of people who’ve asked me recently if I’ve seen it yet, but today, finally, my moment came. Yay.
I loved it. A friend told me it was a really happy, feel-good film and I agree even though I spent almost the entire time blubbing through it. Can’t wait for it to come out on DVD to watch it all over again. And again.
Continuing the Scandinavian theme, I sold another story last week to a new market there, new to me at least. This was all thanks to a writing friend from Australia who I’ve met through this blog. Like me, this lovely lady writes short stories for the women’s magazines and her stories appear frequently in Aus and the UK. We realised that our stories had appeared alongside each other and so we’ve been chatting about all things writerly and all things not so writerly. She kindly gave me the details of the Scandinavian mag so I’d like to say a huge, public thank-you to my newly found friend for being so generous.
Can’t believe that the summer holidays are almost over. Only just over a week to go and then the kids will be back at school. That's so sad. And you know what it also means? Christmas can only be around the corner. Aarggghhhh!

Hi Maddie
Congratulations on selling another story - you are so clever - Can I have a piece of your cleverness please?!
I saw Mamma Mia on Monday - loved it, loved it, loved it! I laughed, I cried, I danced in my seat! Strangely, I cried at the Dancing Queen scene, amongst others! Goodness knows why!
Yes, Christmas is round the corner - Woolworths will have their decorations out soon, and then their Easter Eggs! :-0
Am due to see Mamma Mia! on Sunday - have only heard good things about it. Glad to hear it's the norm to sob through it.
Congratulations on the sale!
Congratulations on the sale to a new-to-you market, Maddie. That's great!
Er... I haven't see Mamma Mia, will have to put that right. You can't beat a good blubbing film or book.
Wow, another story sold, that's brilliant! I loved Mamma Mia too, it was great fun.
Congratulations on selling your story, you must be thrilled.
I also loved Mama Mia, such an uplifting and fun film. I can't wait for the DVD to come out and watch it all over again and be able to sing out loud, and no doubt horrify the children.
Well done on another sale, Maddie.
Who knows, the Abba girls might even read it themselves!
Congratulations on the sale! Go you!
I'm so pleased for you that I will forgive your use of the C word:-)
Yes, but did you see Colin Firth taking his shirt off? sigh ...
Congratulations on the sale, MM, always fab to hear. But you're not the last to see Mamma Mia! I still haven't. Not released in Thailand til the 28th!
Oh Annie, me too! We should have watched it together and blubbed together too.
Honeysuckle - You'll love it!
Yvonne, yes definitely a lot of fun!
Pat - Yes, try and see it if you can, it's a real feelgood movie.
Debs - That's part of the fun, isn't it, embarrassing the children!
Bernadette - Thanks! What a thought! That would be amazing!
Lane - I am very sorry. Have you not started your shoppping yet then?
Lovely to see you here JJ. Definitely something to look forward to!
Helen - I missed you off my list, sorry about that! It must have been the thought of Colin Firth with his shirt off! Mind you, wasn't Meryl Streep lucky, getting to snog Pierce Brosnan.
Don't mention the C word!!
Well done on the sale, by the way :o)
(I'm now officially the only person on the planet who didn't really like Mamma Mia)
